Art of Nature Journaling Workshop Thursday, August 24th | 5PM-7PM $60 Members | $65 General public Location: Webster’s Woods, PAFAC Instructor: Heather A. Wallis Murphy Join us in Webster’s Woods for a workshop led by Wildlife Biologist and Terminus artist, Heather A. Wallis Murphy. During the class Heather will help participants identify native plants and animals, lead them in field sketching prompts, and discuss how these particular species might be influenced by the loss of glaciers.  Participants should be prepared to walk through Webster’s Woods and remain outside for the duration of the class. Materials needed for the workshop will be provided by PAFAC. *Ages 12+ welcome. Ages 15& under must be accompanied by an adult. About the instructor: Heather Wallis Murphy is a Pacific Northwest notecard artist, wildlife biologist, watercolorist, and nature writer. She holds a Forest Technology degree and a Bachelor of Science in Wildlife Habitat Management. She studied drawing at the University of Washington. Her watercolors, journal sketches and migratory bird paintings have been selected for conservation programs in the Western Hemisphere.  
Heather’s agency career spanned from 1974 to 2005, when she retired from the U.S. Forest Service as a wildlife biologist on the Wenatchee River Ranger District. She currently leads Citizen Science programs as a volunteer for the Forest Service. During 2023 Heather is an Artist-In-Residence for Terminus: the Memorial to Glaciers of the Olympic National Park. She has been an Artist-In-Residence for the North Cascades National Park in Stehekin and for the Icicle Fund CHA CHA in Leavenworth WA. Walleye Cards, LLC and Wildtales Journals, Heather’s naturalist notecard, journal business, was founded in 1997. A woman-owned, small independent business she donates over 10% of her sales to conservation and arts organizations. She lives with her husband, Patrick Murphy, in Leavenworth, WA.
